NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.—The University of Maine tied No. 7-ranked Merrimac and an overtime goal that would have put Maine ahead was called back, leaving the teams tied at 2 in the Hockey East matchup.
Merrimack (12-4-5, 8-3-3 HEA) tied the game in the third period when Jesse Todd scored off of a rebound of a Jordan Heywood shot. The game, played Saturday on the Warriors' home ice in North Andover, Mass., remained tied after regulation and headed to overtime where it would finish 2-2.
Maine (10-8-3, 7-7-2) got goals from Brian Flynn and Joey Diamond. Maine goalie Dan Sullivan had 32 saves. Joe Cannata stopped 39 shots for Merrimack.
Maine lost 6-2 to Merrimac on Friday. The Black Bears host Boston College on Friday in Orono.![]()
