Mass. woman OK after pulled from burning car
BRIDGEWATER, Mass.—An elderly Bridgewater woman is in good condition after a man pulled her from her burning car.
The Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/ziEIBW) that 87-year-old Jane Butler has a medical condition that caused her to lose control of her car on Saturday afternoon. Police say she drove through Michael Casey's yard and slammed into a tree.
Casey ran to help and saw Butler's eyes were open, but she wasn't responding. Meanwhile, Butler's foot was on the gas, so her front tire began smoking and eventually burst into flames.
The paper reported Casey ran to his basement, grabbed a hammer and smashed a window so he could open the car door. He then pulled Butler from the car moments before it was engulfed.
Butler was recovering at a Brockton hospital Sunday night.
