BOSTON—Prosecutors say a Boston man and his girlfriend shot and stabbed multiple times in their apartment may have been killed over a debt one of the suspects owed to a victim.

Prosecutors say Michael Corbin and Earl Fulgiam killed Kevin Thomas and his girlfriend, Billie Marie Kee inside the couple's Hyde Park apartment in July 2011.

Kee's 3-year-old son was also in the apartment but was unhurt.

Prosecutors say the killing was apparently over a debt Corbin owed Thomas, and which Thomas had sought to collect just hours before the slayings.

Authorities say the relationship between Thomas and the suspects was based on illegal drug activity.

Corbin and Fulgiam were both ordered held without bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday to murder and other charges.
