Lottery offers shot to buy Sox tickets

The town’s Recreation Department is scheduled to hold a lottery to distribute tickets to five Boston Red Sox games this season at 10 a.m. Feb. 6. The drawing is open to Billerica residents and current or retired town employees who are 18 or older. Registration forms must be submitted by 1 p.m. Feb. 3. The forms may be picked up at the Recreation Department offices at 248 Boston Road, or downloaded from the municipal website, www.town.billerica.ma.us. Registration forms ask participants to list the five games being offered in the drawing - on June 5 and 23; July 17 and 31; and Aug. 6 - in order of their preference. Winners of the lottery will be allowed to buy up to four tickets; prices are from $45 to $49, depending on seat location, and include a transportation fee that covers bus travel to Fenway Park. The buses will leave about two hours before each game from the Good Street parking lot.
