The Westford Museum & Historical Society is presenting its seventh annual February book and writers’ discussion, “Read Local, Write Local,’’ from 7 to 9 tonight and running each Thursday night of the month at the museum, 2 Boston Road. Each week, a different theme will be presented by various local authors. The themes range from Westford history (featuring authors Ellen Harde, Beth Shaw, and Bob Oliphant); to nonfiction (Nadine Briggs, Katrina Avila Munichiello); fiction (David Brody and Mary McAvoy); and mixed media (Virginia Kimball and Laurie Miller). The authors will discuss how they began writing, how they choose their topics, how they approached their research, and how they developed their writing style. Authors also will touch on the publication process. It is not necessary to read the works to be discussed before attending a discussion, but books will be available for purchase. The discussion series is free, but registration is requested. For more information or to register, visit www.westford.com/museum or contact the Westford Museum at 978-692-5550. - Brenda J. Buote
