BOSTON—Massachusetts U.S. Rep. William Keating is forming a Federal Fishing Advisory Board he says will allow fishermen, scientists, government officials and others to work together to solve problems facing the fishing industry.

Keating represents the coastal regions of Cape Cod and the South Shore whose economies rely significantly on fishing.

The Democrat says the new board will enable all with an interest in the fishing industry to come together and look for collaborative solutions to the crisis facing fishermen.

U.S. Reps. John Tierney and Stephen Lynch will join retiring Congressman Barney Frank on the board.

Other members will include representatives from coastal communities on the North Shore, South Shore, Cape Cod and neighboring islands as well as the South Coast.

All members are expected to be announced on March 13.
