Vt. hosts New England governors, premiers

BURLINGTON, Vt.—Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin and Quebec Premier Jean Charest ("sha-RAY") will host the annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers in Vermont this month.
The 36th annual meeting will be held July 29-30 in Burlington.
The governors, premiers and the Canadian and U.S. ambassadors are expected to discuss issues they share such as financial and environmental challenges, enhancing trade and maximizing the potential of each region's energy resources.
Last year's conference took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
