New Winthrop Elementary School principal to start Aug. 20

Christopher Heath has been hired as principal of the Winthrop Elementary School in Hamilton. Heath is currently principal of the Goodyear Elementary School in Woburn. He previously worked as assistant principal at the Joshua Eaton Elementary School in Reading. Heath, who is expected to begin on Aug. 20, was selected from 40 applicants to replace former principal Carrie Vaich, who left to take a job at an elementary school in Lee, N.H.
