Catherine Greig, Whitey Bulger’s girlfriend, asks more time to pay $150,000 fine
James “Whitey” Bulger’s girlfriend, Catherine Greig, has asked for more time to pay a $150,000 fine to the federal court in Boston, while she tries to sell her Quincy house. Greig, 61, was fined $150,000 in addition to the eight-year prison term she received in June after pleading guilty to helping Bulger remain a fugitive for 16 years. She owns a house in Quincy that her twin sister had maintained for her during Greig’s years on the run, and it is valued at $343,700. Her lawyer, Kevin Reddington, asked a federal judge for more time to liquidate her assets, saying that buyers have expressed interest in the property, but no deal has been finalized.
