1 dead, 3 injured in head-on crash on Route 28

One person died and three others were injured in a head-on collision Sunday night on Route 28 in the Cotuit section of Barnstable, police said. The accident occurred near 4300 Falmouth Road. The road was closed for two hours to remove the two heavily damaged vehicles, which came to rest in the westbound lane, said Barnstable Police Officer Kevin Donovan.
