Firefighters accepting food donations through Aug. 31

Chelmsford Firefighters Local 1839 is wrapping up its food drive for the Merrimack Valley Food Bank. Donations will be accepted through Aug. 31. Donation boxes are located at all Chelmsford Fire Department stations: 7 North Road; 35 Princeton St.; 295 Acton Road; 260 Old Westford Road, and 115 Riverneck Road. The items requested by the food bank include peanut butter, jelly, rice, canned meat and vegetables, fruit juices, pasta and pasta sauce, cereal and oatmeal, and healthy snacks.
