Students bridle at ALLEGED cheating
Harvard University reacted Friday to news that 125 undergraduates are suspected of cheating on a spring take-home exam. Some professors worried the episode signaled a widespread ethical lapse. But a few accused students said they simply had not understood what was expected of them. The instructions were confusing, they said -- on one hand they were barred from discussing the exam with others, but on the other were told to consider it “completely open book, open note, open Internet, etc.”
