Mayor Daniel Rizzo recently established a new advisory group to help ensure that the business community along Broadway has a direct say in plans to reenergize Revere’s central business district. The Broadway Advisory Council, which is set to hold its kickoff meeting on Thursday, includes business owners, representatives of the Revere Chamber of Commerce, and City Councilor Anthony Zambuto, chairman of the council’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. Rizzo pledged during his 2010 mayoral campaign to bring new vitality to Broadway through community-guided improvements to the street. Preliminary plans call for large-scale aesthetic upgrades, including building and sidewalk renovations, landscaping, new lighting, and more accessible trash and recycling bins. Anyone who would like to participate in the planning effort is asked to contact John Festa, the city’s director of economic development, at jfesta@revere.org or 781-286-8111. ![]()
