2 bodies found in rubble of Uxbridge blaze
UXBRIDGE, Mass.—A second body has been found in a burned Uxbridge apartment building where a 45-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter were missing.
Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said Tuesday the bodies have not been positively identified. He said the other seven residents of the building have been accounted for. One body was found Tuesday morning, and the second was found late in the afternoon.
State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan said officials conducted a "detailed search" of the rubble.
The blaze was reported at about 11 p.m. Monday in an old wood-frame farm house divided into five units. The cause is still being investigated.
Neighbors told firefighters the woman and her daughter were seen earlier Monday, but were unaccounted for after the fire. The woman's vehicle was still in the driveway.![]()
