On Tuesday, a patient at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield reported seeing a window bearing the likeness of the Virgin Mary (left).

Although glass experts offer a logical explanation -- minerals in the glass caused an acidic reaction -- the window has nevertheless attracted thousands of spectators.

The sighting may be strange, but it is hardly unique -- scroll through some other instances in which people believed to have seen the Virgin Mary.
