The state Department of Environmental Protection's new Field Assessment and Support Team (FAST) response vehicle is 15 feet long and has a 330-horsepower engine. The vehicle responds to explosions, floods, oil spills, and other environmental emergencies. It was purchased for $180,000 after the state agency reviewed its response to the chemical explosion in Danversport almost two years ago.
