Former US representative Marty Meehan
Warchest: $4.8 millionChance of running: Has been squirrelly, and wont comment on whether he would run. My focus is on making UMass-Lowell a world class institution, he said.
Pro: Has the largest amount of money of any candidate, and was one of the front-runners in 2004 if Kerry had won the presidency.
Con: He recently left Congress to become chancellor of UMass Lowell, taking that role on July 1, 2007. To make a run, he would have to justify leaving to both trustees and voters.
