Scandals rattle Beacon Hill
In the past year, a number of Massachusetts politicians have been under investigation for violations ranging from bribery to harassment.
On June 2, former House speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi was indicted in federal court following a series of Globe stories detailing the awarding of multi-million-dollar state computer software contracts in which DiMasi's associates made hundreds of thousands of dollars in commissions and fees.
DiMasi resigned from the House on Jan. 27, after months of investigations.
