Library officials say they cannot abandon their patrons who depend on the bookmobile and have no other way of getting books, audio books, DVDs, and videotapes. Now the library, which has operated a bookmobile service since 1959, is trying to raise $150,000 to purchase a replacement bookmobile. Shown inside the bookmobile (clockwise from foreground) are Gillian Smith, 8, her brother Justin, 6, their mother Laurie, and Peg Estabrook.
