Chacón, who worked for almost a dozen years at the Globe, served as communications director during the campaign. In 2004, he won a Nieman Fellowship for Journalists at Harvard University. Chacón’s government experience includes working as Assistant to the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development for New York City Mayor David Dinkins from 1990 – 1992. He was also Deputy Media Director for the 1992 Democratic National Convention in New York.
