Rakan's war

Volunteer translator Aomar Nait-Talb (right) showed Rakan's uncle, Falah Abbas, a room at the Beacon House on Beacon Hill, where Abbas would live during Rakan's stay at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center. The apartment, shared with families of other patients and within walking distance of Rakan, was provided by Massachusetts General Hospital for free, though Abbas often slept in Rakan's room. Falah Abbas had trouble adjusting to the extreme differences in American culture.
