RALPH DELEO'S APPLICATION FOR A STATE JOB

House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo's cousin, Ralph DeLeo, emphasized his connection to the powerful legislator when he applied to be a deputy director in the Executive Office of Administration and Finance. At the top of the application letter, Ralph DeLeo notes that he has sent a copy to DeLeo, then chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee (or "HWM"). Ralph DeLeo and his father donated $1,000 to Representative DeLeo's campaign less than two months later. Ralph DeLeo didn't get the deputy director's job, but later got another position that pays $75,000 a year.
