The Portsmouth Museum of Art has been granted a waiver of city parking requirements for its new location at 909 Islington St. The museum, previously located at One Harbour Place, has signed a five-year lease for the Islington Street site in a former button factory behind Dow’s Automotive. The space will require new heating, air-conditioning, and electrical systems before the museum reopens. The waiver granted by the Zoning Board of Adjustment will allow the museum to have 83 parking spaces rather than the 90 required by ordinance.
