Visitors to Hampton Beach still have to feed the parking meters. In previous years the meters were not in effect from Oct. 1 to May 1. This year, legislation was passed that allows state parks to charge for parking year-round, but at a reduced rate of $1 per hour from October to May. During the summer, parking meters were set at $2 per hour. The meters are in effect from 8 a.m. to midnight.
