CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The only soup kitchen in the New Hampshire city of Concord is holding an open house to celebrate the completion of its new building.
The soup kitchen suffered severe damage in a fire in April 2011.
Organizers say the new building was finished on time and at $100,000 under budget, but $335,000 still need to be raised for it to be mortgage-free.
The open house is being held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the soup kitchen 2 South Commercial Street.
Since the Friendly Kitchen began in 1980, it has served over 600,000 meals.
