LACONIA, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and Laconia Recreation Department are offering a daylong workshop on ice fishing.
The Feb. 2 workshop is free and all materials are supplied, but space is limited and early registration is advised. It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent. Participants do not need a fishing license.
The first half of the day will be spent at the Laconia Community Center learning about equipment, safety and winter ecology of the lakes and ponds.
Participants will spend the second half of the day putting their newly-learned skills to the test on frozen local waterways.
