Registration open for 2 Mt. Washington bike events

PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. (AP) — Registration is open for two bicycle events that include New England’s tallest mountain in the route.
One of them is the Mount Washington Century Ride, a 100-mile route that heads through three notches and around the base of the mountain. Abbreviated 40- and 80-mile routes also are available. The ride is on Saturday, July 20.
The other race is the Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb, on Saturday, Aug. 17, where riders compete to get up the 7.6 miles to the summit.
Proceeds benefit the Tin Mountain Conservation Center in Albany.
