HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) — Participants in the weekend Penguin Plunge at New Hampshire’s Hampton Beach have raised over $493,000.
The money goes to Special Olympics New Hampshire.
The theme was ‘‘Going to the Chapel,’’ and many people dressed like brides and grooms.
One team from Dover came as an entire wedding party. They even brought flowers and a prenuptial agreement.
The water was about 40 degrees and the air temperature was in the 20s for Sunday’s event.
On Saturday, nearly 500 teens took part in the High School Penguin Plunge at the beach. They raised nearly $136,000.
