MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A 21-year-old New Hampshire man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for kidnapping and torturing a teenage boy .

WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/V2arlb ) that Ismael Bangs of Manchester told the court on Thursday that he wanted to apologize to the boy and was embarrassed and disgusted by his actions.

Police say Bangs stripped his victim, burned him with a hot knife and glued his lips shut in July 2011. Police say the assault was recorded by cell-phone video.

Bangs’ co-defendant Yvens Luclaise was found guilty last year of being an accomplice and sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prison.
