Boston U coasts to 68-56 win over New Hampshire

BOSTON (AP) — Maurice Watson Jr. scored 13 points with 10 rebounds, and Dom Morris had 13 points and eight rebounds as Boston University defeated New Hampshire 68-56 Sunday.

The Terriers (15-11, 9-4 America East Conference) used a 15-2 run to lead 21-8 after less than 6 minutes of play. They were ahead 34-17 at halftime and led by double figures throughout the second half.

Watson, who had his first career double-double, assisted on three baskets and D.J. Irving two during that run, and both finished with six assists. Irving also had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Boston University, the America East’s top 3-point shooting team, made 7 of 16 against New Hampshire (7-17, 3-9), which was leading the league in defense against 3s.

The Terriers moved into a tie with Vermont for second place in the conference.

Chris Pelcher scored 15 points and Chandler Rhoads 11 for the Wildcats.end of story marker
