DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Police say a two-car crash in Durham has left one man dead and two others seriously injured.

The Durham Police Department says the crash occurred Saturday morning on Route 4, near the University of New Hampshire exit. They say an unidentified 74-year-old man who was heading west in a Buick was killed.

Police say two 22-year-old men who were heading east in a Chrysler car suffered undisclosed injuries. The driver had to be extricated from the wreckage. He was flown to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and his passenger was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital by ambulance.

State and local police are investigating the crash. Witnesses tell MMUR-TV that the driver of the Chrysler may have drifted into oncoming traffic, striking the Buick head-on.end of story marker
