ALSTEAD, N.H. (AP) — A half-mile stretch of New Hampshire Route 12A in Alstead has reopened after the road was severely damaged in June by heavy flooding.
The road opened just north of the intersection with Walpole Valley Road was reopened last week.
The Eagle-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1brIBpk) the work involved 15 individual repair sites that included full roadway reconstruction, shoulder and ditch line repair, construction and installation of a retaining wall, box culvert and drainage, paving and replacing guardrails.
Final paving work will take place next spring.
The project cost about $1.79 million.
