NH police chief injured after traffic stop

Warrants are being sought for a 38-year-old Fitchburg man who allegedly injured the police chief of Mason, N.H., during an attempted arrrest, police said. Police Chief Barry Hutchins stopped a car occupied by Russell Monbleau and a woman at 8:40 p.m. on Brookline Road, the Mason Police Department said in a statement. When the chief tried to arrest Monbleau for possession of crack cocaine, police said, Monbleau struck him several times, threw a metal chair at him, then fled into the woods. The extent of Hutchins’s injuries was not immediately available. The driver, Danielle Dickstein, 34, of Amherst, N.H., was arrested at the scene for possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.
