Standoff with Mass. man ends peacefully at N.H. motel

A standoff at a motel in Nashua ended peacefully Tuesday with a man from Massachusetts under arrest, police said. Police said the incident began at about 10 p.m. Monday when they got a call about a man kidnapping his former girlfriend in Manchester and taking her to a Motel 6 in Nashua. Guests were evacuated from the motel. The man surrendered to police at about 7 a.m. Tuesday. Police identified him as Stanislav Osherov, 22, of Newton, Mass. He was charged with domestic violence and kidnapping. Police said a crisis intervention unit communicated with Osherov for hours, successfully negotiating for the woman’s release and his surrender. Osherov was being held on $500,000 bail pending his arraignment Wednesday.
