A cat in Manchester, New Hampshire survived a three-mile ride in a car engine last weekend and has received more than 100 stitches at a veterinary hospital. The cat, named Tommy, suffered third degree burns and underwent 90 minutes of surgery after the incident.
Firefighters freed the cat from the car’s engine after the driver heard it screaming and onlookers tried to pull the animal out.
Tommy is now under the care of the Manchester Animal Shelter. He is declawed and neutered, suggesting he was someones pet. No one has come forward to claim him.
