NH Workers Keep Warm in FreezerIt was so cold in New Hampshire on Wednesday that workers at Laconia Ice Co. used an unlikely place to warm up -- their freezer.
Manager Tom Rudzinski said the company's freezer is kept around 15 degrees, about 30 degrees warmer than it was outside in the parking lot at midmorning. ``Our workers are saying they can go inside the warehouse to warm up,'' he said. Rudzinski said that was even too cold for ice, which he said crystalizes and cracks if stored below 15 degrees. His product is in constant demand during the summer, but not so much now, with ice everywhere. ``We're still out there, but there's not too much of a demand for it,'' he said. ``A lot of people can just stick things outside.'' |
