Rare Ferrari missing from repair shop

New England police and car enthusiasts alike are on the lookout for a rare $125,000 Ferrari, one of only a handful ever made with a special designer paint job.

The car, a F355 Challenge model with a unique paint job by designer Tommy Hilfiger, was reported stolen Oct. 26 from Exotech, a sports car repair shop in Plaistow, N.H., police said.

The owner of the vehicle, Andy Sanborn of Henniker, N.H., immediately posted a plea on www.ferrarichat.com asking for help retrieving the car.

Ferrari enthusiasts from around New England responded, commiserating about the apparent theft of such an exotic and recognizable car.

One person wrote that he believes a friend had seen the car on a flatbed trailer in Salisbury, Mass., but a dispatcher there said last night that the Police Department has received no calls regarding the Ferrari.

Sanborn could not be reached for comment last night.

Anyone with information about the car can contact police at 603-382-1200.
