State offering job help for high school graduates
CONCORD, N.H. --The state has launched a program to help high school graduates navigate the sometimes intimidating world of finding a job and making a living.
The Department of Employment Security's YES project -- which stands for Youth Employment Services -- aims to help high school seniors who want to start working after graduation.
Commissioner Richard Brothers says the program, which is available at the department's 13 offices around the state, groups together the state's many work-search options and gears them to teens, allowing students to "shop" for jobs.
At the offices, students can use online job search programs, get information about employers who will hire or train young workers, learn about career, vocational and certificate programs, attend job fairs and take aptitude tests.![]()
