UNH tells high school seniors -- don't goof off
DURHAM, N.H. --University of New Hampshire admissions officials have a message for high school seniors -- don't let the senior slide doom you college plans.
The university says it will more strictly enforce a policy that high school seniors accepted for fall admission won't be allowed to attend if they let their grades slip during the final months of high school.
Robert McGann, director of admissions, says he expects the stricter enforcement will result in only a few dozen rejections. He says the school has found that students whose grades drop at the end of high school do poorly during their first semester at college.
