Teen athlete hospitalized after collapsing on field

MERIDEN, N.H. --A 17-year-old football player at (New Hampshire's) Kimball Union Academy is in intensive care after collapsing from a suspected heart attack after practice yesterday.

Rescuers performed CPR and shocked the teen with a defibrillator on the field.

School spokeswoman Julia Brennan said the teen is in intensive care and that his parents reported he had a good night and was conscious and responsive this morning.

She says all students and teachers met this morning and counselors are available on campus.
