Teen who collapsed on field in serious, but stable condition
MERIDEN, N.H. --A 17-year-old football player at (New Hampshire's) Kimball Union Academy is doing better after collapsing on the field during practice this week.
Matthew Keene of Berlin was in intensive care yesterday, but he's now listed in serious, but stable condition.
Keene's parents say without quick-thinking rescuers who performed CPR and shocked the teen with a defibrillator on the field, the situation could have been much worse.
Officials at Dartmouth Hitchcock hospital said Keene was being tested to find the cause of the abnormal heart rhythm that caused his collapse.
