Search for body of missing party-goer resumes
GILFORD, N.H. --New Hampshire Fish and Game is searching today for the body of a 45-year-old man who fell off the Mount Washington cruise ship during a weekend party.
Marine Patrol says James Slyvestre of Hooksett fell overboard into Lake Winnipesaukee during a Halloween party around ten o'clock Saturday night.
Strong winds, driving rain and darkness hampered rescue efforts that night.
Lieutenant Jim Goss says conditions weren't much better on Sunday as winds hit more than 50 miles per hour, whipping up waves and endangering search crews.
With water temperatures in the 50s, searchers said anyone in the water would be overcome by hypothermia in a matter of minutes.![]()
