UNH rural studies institute gets $1 million boost
DURHAM, N.H. --A University of New Hampshire institute specializing in rural studies receives a $1 million grant.
The Carsey Institute studies trends and public policy in rural communities. Recent reports have focused on voting patterns and values, war casualties and immigration in rural settings.
The four-year grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation will help it continue its studies.
The institute was established in May 2002 through gift from UNH alum and television producer Marcy Carsey. Carsey-produced television hits include "That '70s Show," "Roseanne" and "The Cosby Show."![]()
