Brown prepares for siege, agents shrug
CONCORD, N.H. --Convicted tax evader Ed Brown says he is preparing for a long stand-off with federal agents. But for now, U.S. marshals say they have no plans to go to his property or escalate the one-sided conflict in Plainfield (New Hampshire).
Internet support grew today for Brown and his wife, who were found guilty of tax evasion charges yesterday. Elaine Brown attended the trial; Ed Brown stayed holed up in his fortress-like home.
Online activists are encouraging others to join Brown and fight against their predicted siege. Brown says a confrontation could be avoided if the I-R-S admitted it has no authority to tax personal income.
U.S. marshals have been in contact with Brown and insist they don't plan to attack.![]()
