Treasury secretary to be Dartmouth commencement speaker

HANOVER, N.H. --U.S. Treasury Secretary and Dartmouth alum Henry Paulson will be Dartmouth's commencement speaker in June.

Paulson was an English major who became chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs. He also was an All-Ivy football player and academic standout in the Dartmouth Class of 1968.

Dartmouth President James Wright said he invited Paulson because of Paulson's wide experience and success in the financial world and strong record of public service.

Paulson also has been active in environmental causes, serving as chairman of the Nature Conservancy from 2004 to 2006.
