Mystery emu on the move, spotted in Concord, Bow
BOW, N.H. --There's a big bird on the loose.
Since a hiker spotted a lone emu on the weekend, reports of emu spottings have been flowing in.
Campers saw it wandering the grounds of the New Hampshire Audubon's land in Concord. There also have been reports of emu sightings in Bow.
No one's sure where the giant, flightless bird came from, but Audubon workers guess it escaped from a farm. Emus often are farmed for their meat.
Rick Minard, the president of New Hampshire Audubon, says employees have been calling around looking for local emu farms. So far the closest one they have found is in Vermont.
