CONCORD, N.H.—A Senate committee is recommending the Senate reject two plans to expand gambling in New Hampshire.

One plan would allow a casino to be built in Berlin. The other would allow video slot machines at racetracks.

Opponents maintain allowing a casino or slots would invite crime and hurt the quality of life. Supporters say they would bring a new source of revenue and boost the economy.
