LITTLETON, N.H.—Some low-income residents of northern New Hampshire will be eating well.
State Fish and Game officers recently turned over about 550 pounds of confiscated moose and deer meet to the community action office in Littleton. The officers confiscated the meat last fall from hunters who had killed animals illegally.
The officers, who work in west central New Hampshire, had the meat butchered, packaged and frozen. They gave the meat to community action when court action related to the seizures was resolved.
The Littleton community action office serves Littleton, Franconia and Bethlehem. Coordinator Pauline Aldrich said the gift is much appreciated and timely.
