MANCHESTER, N.H.—Authorities in Manchester (New Hampshire) say there is no sign yet of a man who jumped off the Queen City Bridge into the Merrimack River after allegedly stabbing his estranged wife.

The woman was stabbed on Brown Avenue Friday afternoon and ran to a nearby apartment to get help. Police said her husband, 29-year-old Malual Woltong, went to the bridge and jumped into the fast-moving river.

Firefighters in a rescue boat searched the river until early evening, with no sign of Woltong.

Witnesses say the woman was slashed on her arms, legs and body. There is no word on her condition.
