MANCHESTER, N.H.—Bishop John McCormack has asked New Hampshire Catholics to help victims of the cyclone that devasted parts of Myanmar last week.

McCormack has asked pastors and Catholic school principals to take a collection to support cyclone relief efforts by Catholic Relief Services.

The collection will be held in parishes on the weekend of May 24 and 25 or May 31 and June 1. Catholic Relief Services is the official international humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic churches.

Myanmar says the cyclone killed more than 23,000 and left more than 37,000 missing.
